For its second consecutive period, Consorcio Azucarero de Empresas Industriales (CAEI) obtained its certification for guaranteeing the health and safety of its workers.  The company was one of the first 40 business operations in the country that in 2011 obtained the certification that accredits it as compliant with the Regulation for Occupational Health and Safety in the Workplace.

The credential is issued by the Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety of the Ministry of Labor and requires a recertification audit every three years.

Consorcio CAEI promotes a culture of preventive Health and Safety among its collaborators to comply with the company’s policy of Zero Accidents at the workplace.

The company’s Cultivation and Harvesting operations were also certified again in 2018 by OHSAS 18001.  The certification was expanded to the agricultural equipment workshops.  CAEI successfully completed its fourth consecutive audit in this management system by complying with legal requirements and best practices for health and labor risk management.

Likewise, CAEI has obtained the Ministry of Health accreditation for the medical clinic it operates within the industrial area, ensuring that services provided to mill workers are aligned to the highest national standards.

La Finca Unidad, an affiliated sugar cane provider, has also certified its Health and Safety program from the Ministry of Labor
