Central Barahona Foundation will promote support for Hospital Jaime Mota
During a dinner in the Caryatids room of the National Palace, President Luis Abinader swore in members of the Central Sugar Consortium and the Everest Group to the Public Institutions Volunteer Management Committee.
Through its Central Barahona Foundation, CAC has supported the new Jaime Mota Regional University Hospital in the city of Barahona with the goal of ensuring thousands of people throughout the Enriquillo region continue to receive quality medical care.
With this initiative, CAC will help the government achieve better outcomes for the benefit of all citizens.
The President said that a society where there is collaboration, interaction and unity of purpose between the social and productive sectors and the government is historically a society that can advance and develop. He maintained that the support and help of the private sector through volunteering and public management is essential for good management. “I thank you from the bottom of my heart on a personal basis and on behalf of the government for your help and for your dedication to this purpose, which is a national purpose for the benefit of our country“, said the president.
The most important functions regarding the new hospital that the member entities of this committee will be responsible for will be: maintain infrastructure, managing donations, developing communication campaigns, raising funds, providing advice, and supervise the hospital’s proper functioning.
Representing CAC was Mr. Ramon Cáceres, Director. The swearing-in was also attended by Vice President Raquel Peña; Ministers of Public Health, Daniel de Jesús Rivera; of Culture, Milagros Germán; the Legal Adviser to the Executive Branch, Antoliano Peralta; the Directors of the National Health Service Mario Lama; and of the Volunteer Management Committee, Nelly Carias.
